Leading Industrial Internet conference examines practical solutions to putting the IIoT to work


At its seventh annual Minds + Machines event, GE Digital will convene innovators, business executives, technologists, Operational Technology and Information Technology leaders to advance the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and accelerate the adoption of leading IIoT applications. The mission of this year’s Minds + Machines is to help businesses take advantage of technologies to make their organizations more competitive and improve outcomes for their teams, customers and end consumers.

About the event

  • What is Minds + Machines?
    Minds + Machines 2018 is GE’s Industrial Internet event dedicated to software, innovation, and the most powerful digital industrial outcomes. It is the only IIoT conference offering an immersive experience with digital technology.

    Minds+ Machine’s brings together today’s most innovative industrial thought leaders, including GE executives, customers, developers, and partners who are leading the way with digital.

    When: Oct. 30-31, 2018 (Tuesday-Wednesday).
    Where: Minds + Machines 2018 will be held at Pier 27 in San Francisco, CA

Registration

  • How much does the conference cost?
    The earlier you register, the lower the event rate will be:

    • • Pre-sale registration (March 28- April 30): $995
    • • Early-bird registration (March 28 – July 11): $1,195
    • • Regular registration (July 12 – October 31): $1,495


    * If you’ve previously attended Minds + Machines, please inquire about our special pre-sale rate available. Quantity is limited. Please email mindsand.machines@ge.com for details.

    We accept all major credit cards including Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.

    Payment must be made during registration. Registrations without payment will not be processed.

    Please note:

    • • Non-registered guests will not be permitted to attend any Minds + Machines activities
    • • We do not allow attendee substitutions
    • • If you are unable to attend Minds + Machines for any reason, you will need to cancel your registration
    • • Refunds will be determined based on our cancellation policy
  • I have completed my registration. How do I make a change?
    The email you received upon successful completion of registration will have a link to modify your registration. When you click on that link, it will bring you to the website and ask for the confirmation code, which is included in the email mentioned above. Upon entering the confirmation code, it will display your current registration and an option for modifying it.

    If you visit the website, you will see an “Already Registered” link which you can click on to enter your confirmation code and access your current registration. If you do not have your confirmation code handy, you will see a link on this same page to request your code. Once you access your current registration, you can view, print, email, modify or cancel.
  • How can I help register someone else?
    You may register someone else by selecting the option to “register for a colleague” at the start of the registration form. All registrations must be completed and paid for individually.
  • How do I register for a group?
    To register for a group and pay with one credit card, you must first click ‘register’ and fill out the personal information section for one member of your group. After that, you can click ‘add new person’ to add the registration of additional members. Once you are finished adding all the members of your group, please click ‘finish adding people’. There is no limit on the amount of people you can register. The confirmation page will include a link to the hotel passkey, which allows you to book hotel rooms for your group.
  • Is there a group discount?
    Yes, if you register between 10-20 people in a group, you will receive a 15% discount. For groups of 20 or more, you will receive a 20% discount. For questions on other discounts, please email mindsand.machines@ge.com.
  • What is the cancellation policy?
    All cancellations must be requested via email to mindsand.machines@ge.com. Please include the following subject line in your email request: MMSF18 Cancellation Request

    Refunds will be issued based on the following criteria:

    • • Full refund: Cancellation must be received by 11:59 pm PT on July 25, 2018
    • • 50% refund: Cancellation must be received between 12:00 am PT on July 25, 2018 and 11:59 pm PT on September 30, 2018
    • • No refunds will be given after 12:00 am PT on September 30, 2018
  • When and where should I pick up my event badge?
    Registration and badge pick up will be available for guests during both days of the conference. Additionally, we may provide badge pick up prior to the event at select locations. Please check back closer to the event for pre-event badge pick-up.

    A photo ID is required to receive your conference badge for Minds + Machines entry.

    Please be advised, there will be no on-site bag check. GE will not be responsible for housing or storing any items on-site and is not liable for any lost or stolen items. Please see the bag and personal item FAQ for complete guidelines.

  • Bag and personal items policy
    To ensure the safety and security of all attendees, GE has implemented the following bag and restricted items policy for this year’s Minds + Machines event.

    Please note:
    There will be no on-site bag check*. GE will not be responsible for housing or storing any items on-site and is not liable for any lost or stolen items. All attendees are strongly encouraged to leave all luggage, large bags, and backpacks in either their vehicles or hotel rooms.

    The following items will NOT be allowed on-site at the event and are subject to refusal of admittance:

    • Roller bags or luggage of any kind
    • Outside food or beverages
    • Weapons, including firearms, edged weapons, knives, fireworks, incapacitating sprays, or acids
    • Drink containers, flasks, or coolers
    • Noise makers, flags, banners, or inflatables
    • Animals of any kind, unless they are service animals/guide dogs.

    *While we do not allow any large bags or luggage of any kind, we will allow and accept attendees who choose to bring a small briefcase, handbag, laptop case, shoulder bag, or tote bag. As a reminder, there will be no place to safely store or secure your bag on-site. Any bag must remain with you at all times.
  • What meals will be provided?
    Minds + Machines will be providing food and refreshments for attendees throughout the conference. Please check back for meal service details. If you have immediate concerns, please email mindsand.machines@ge.com.
  • What is the recommended attire for the conference?
    Business Casual
  • Does Minds + Machines have a code of conduct?
    We are committed to providing a friendly, safe, and welcoming environment for all, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity, or religion. We invite all sponsors, speakers, attendees, media, exhibitors, and other participants to help us participate in a safe and positive conference experience for everyone.
  • Security
    In addition, all attendees will be required to have government issued photo identification in the form of a driver’s license, passport or government issued ID when picking up their name badge.

Travel, hotel, and accommodations

  • What is the best way to coordinate hotel accommodations for Minds + Machines?
    The Minds + Machines team has negotiated special conference rates at the hotels listed below. The discounted rates are available until October 8th through the Minds + Machines website based on availability. After this date we cannot guarantee the discounted rate will be available. You will be prompted to book your room at the end of the registration process.

    Please note:
    • • Direct Bookings: If you prefer to book accommodations directly through a hotel or over the phone, you are not guaranteed the negotiated rate for Minds + Machines.
    • • Cancellations: If for any reason you need to cancel your hotel reservation, please contact the hotel directly to avoid any cancellation charges. Most hotels will allow you to cancel 72 hours prior to your stay; however, this policy may vary by hotel.
    • • Flexible arrivals and departures: If you would like to arrive prior to the event but do not see those dates available as an option, please use the earliest check-in date or latest check-out date available and contact the hotel directly with your confirmation code to adjust your reservation. The Minds + Machines conference rate may not apply to nights outside of the negotiated room block.

  • Which airport is closest to the conference?
    San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is the closest airport to the conference.
  • Is parking available near Pier 27?
    See attached parking guide for information on parking near the venue. Parking will not be validated by GE.

International registration and Visas

  • How do I request a Visa Invitation?
    You will need to request a Visa Invitation letter. You must register for the conference prior to requesting a Visa Invitation. Please email mindsand.machines@ge.com with the subject line “Minds + Machines Visa Request" and provide the following information:

    • • First name as listed on passport
    • • Last name as listed on passport
    • • Full name as listed on registration
    • • Country of origin
    • • Passport number
    • • Passport expiration date
    • • Date of birth
    • • Full address of your local embassy/consulate


    Requesting a Visa Invitation letter does not guarantee that your local authorities will grant a Visa to attend Minds + Machines.
